World Wild West is a multidisciplinary, audiovisual celebration of the internet and its many communities. From fandoms to alternative fashion scenes, niche music genres and forums for LGBT people; we highlight unconventional expressions, reclaiming the online landscape from monopolistic social media behemoths. We depict a moment when the internet is once again for and by everyone. Think of it as a joyous mashup of the funny, quirky side of the web that is not afraid to embrace cringe or bad taste.
World Wild West is affiliated with the collective klokpack6ix.
We are explicitly queer positive and strive to be a welcoming home to LGBTQ+ artists and audiences.
ARDEMAR is a Portuguese musician and creative programmer who explores Portuguese musical tradition through new technologies. In his performance, ‘DAWTube’, he creates new compositions on-the-fly by playing multiple YouTube videos simultaneously, a simple and elegant concept with mind-boggling results. ARDEMAR has performed at the first three editions of World Wild West.
BOK DIDA are a Dutch-Croatian rap duo made up of long-time friends Pirko and Giuseppe. Together, they blend the absurdist Nederhop of groups like De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig with everything from krautrock to hyperpop, Eurodance and Balkan music. No two of their live performances are the same: they take pride in surprising the audience with strange homebrew instruments, creative outfits and bespoke props like a fatbike made entirely from duct tape. BOK DIDA has performed at WWW editions two, three and four.
Cyberbirdxx creates animations, installations and prints in which she plays with multiple levels of human consciousness, in harmony with cyberfeminist practice. For WWW she often VJs and does graphic design. Cyberbirdxx has performed at editions two, three and four.
Dagerblad's songs somehow manage to be both intimate and enormous at the same time, her cosmic sound palette transports you through the vast expanses of your bedroom. DJ'ing with her Ableton Push, she prides herself on her creative transitions. Dagerblad has performed at the fourth edition of WWW.
Hugo Remmen is a musician, video artist, VJ and light technician. His high-energy music features distinctive experimental sound design and grungy, noisy textures. Hugo Remmon's lyrics discuss reality through a murky lens, drawing on themes like existential horror and political discontent. He is a performer like no other and the ghillie suit and sandals he dons make his stage presence truly otherwordly. Hugo Remmen has been involved in editions two, three and four of WWW, either as a stage designer, VJ or musical act.
Ida Deerz (any/all) is the mythical jack-of-all-trades, master-of-everything; a true homo universalis of the digital age who can make anything she sets her mind to. That can be delightfully playful hyperpop, a Nintendo DS DJ set (don't ask us how that works, we don't understand it) or a bespoke dynamic site generator in order to "take back the internet". Her high-voltage music is perfect for when you're on the good drugs (DIY hormone replacement therapy).
Internet Ugly, whose name is a reference to the changeable but recognisable aesthetic of the online world, is an artist on YouTube. They hide helpful edutainment between ironic delusions and internet jargon, sharing information with their chronically online audience on topics such as community building and a healthier relationship with the internet and technology in general. Internet Ugly has performed at World Wild West editions two, three and four.
Lacuna is a composer and DJ from India who graduated from the Master Music Design at HKU in 2025. At WWW editions two and three, he fired the up audience with totally unexpected mixes from video games such as GTA V and Need for Speed.
A digital artist with a love for all things low-poly, lo-fi and glitchy. Their work can be seen in many Rob Feather music videos as well as the animated short film “Mother’s Child”, which played at film festivals across the globe. For WWW, they create 3D designs and animations, with an ambition to VJ in the future.
Rein.computer graduated from Design, Art & Technology at ArtEZ in Arnhem in 2022. With hands-on workshops and a DIY ethos, they seek to recreate the digital utopianism of the Web 1.0 era. At World Wild West, Rein often serves as VJ and collaborates on stage design.
Rob Feather’s “low-resolution music” manages to successfully balance irresistibly catchy pop tunes with conceptual and musical experimentation. They performed at the fourth edition of WWW.
Slootwater a.k.a. soofnotfound has a trickster spirit we love at World Wild West. When she VJs, you never know what you're going to get. Maybe she's playing Roblox but all the textures have been replaced with pictures of Freek Vonk, maybe she's getting her Marktplaats account banned by bidding on too many used cars, maybe she's browsing her picture folder in rhythm with the music. She has performed at WWW editions three and four, and is looking to DJ for us in the future. As you can imagine, we're very curious about that!
Y4k4r1's set is a rollercoaster through all the funny, weird songs and videos you secretly love but don't have the courage to tell your friends about. Mixed in a surprisingly danceable way and paired with layered, hyperactive visuals, Y4k4r1 overwhelms the senses and completely turns off the part of the brain that is occasionally embarrassed.
Unluca★★★ is a Vocaloid artist with a unique, narrative live show in which they combines computer-generated vocals, self-created animations and their infectious enthusiasm to tell a story about a depressed young adult and her magical journey of self-discovery. Nominated for an HKU Award in 2023, their catchy hyperpop songs touch on both the joys and issues of living as a queer person with pride and vulnerability. They have performed at every edition of World Wild West so far.
We put a lot of effort into our promotional material to give it a distinct style and identity that reflects both the themes of our events and the designer's own aesthethic.

Of course, our technical requirements depend on the lineup but in general most of our acts have relatively simple setups consisting of a laptop, an audio interface and the occasional microphone. Since our events are so visual-heavy, it is important to have a decent projector and projection surface, as well as a HDMI connection on stage. If your venue is not confident about its projection quality, World Wild West might be able to arrange something better or we can collaborate with you on a creative solution. At EKKO, for example, we used three small projection surfaces instead of one big one and that worked just fine.
